Mandeh Tourism beautiful beach on west sumatera

Mandeh Tourism Park in West Sumatra will be launched to become Mandeh National Sea Park. This launching will be held in the end of April 2015 and attended by Indonesian president Joko Widodo. This event will be enlivened by many cultural festivals, international paragliding performances, diving festivals, photograph competitions in the sea and many other art and cultural events. Mandeh tourism object becomes Mandeh Sea Park because this area has very promising potential, especially in tourism sector. Even Mandeh area has become the main destination of marine tourism sector in National Tourism Development Master Plan (RIPPNAS) together with Biak and Bunaken.
Mandeh is a tourism object which is located at Koto XI (Sembilan) Tarusan sub-district which directly borders with Padang, the capital city of West Sumatra. This area is around 56 Kilometer from Padang, the capital city of West Sumatra Province. To go to this area takes around 70 minutes by using land transportation from Padang. It is called Mandeh, because one of the villages in this area has a name Mandeh village. Mandeh tourism area is combination among natural hills with beautiful bay which is decorated by clusters of small islands locating in the middle of Carocok Tarusan bay.
This bay is quite flat and has no waves because in surrounding area there are some small islands, among others Traju, Setan Kecil, big and small Sironjong Island and Cubadak Island.
Mandeh has beautiful coral reef. At Mandeh area, there are 70 hectares of coral reefs which are still maintained. Not only that, under the sea of Mandeh bay in the depth of 20 until 25 meters, there is also intact shipwreck assumed to belong to MV Boelongan cargo of the Netherlands which was bombed by Japan in 1942. This spot, according to the Indonesian Minister of Maritime is the best shipwreck of diving spot in Indonesia even in the world. At this area, there is also 389 hectare wide of mangrove forest as well as various marine biota.
With the beauty on its land and undersea, it is no wonder that this area has a nick name The Paradise in the Southern of Sumatra. Because of that, if you come to Mandeh, pelase enjoy the beauty of land and undersea of this area. You can do various water activities such as swimming, going around the island with cano or speedboat, and diving. And Mandeh will be more beautiful, if you witness it from the hills. You can climb to the peak of Mandeh which is one of the most favorite spots. From the peak of Mandeh, you can see clusters of small islands and also the activity of fishermen.
